April Showers bring May Flower

April the month when all the rain of the year lodges.
The cool breezes blows.
The Flowers blooms.
The Bees buzz.
There i was sitting beside the lake.
Then i thought, yes i thought.
School was ending soon.

The Falling

I stepped off the edge of the world.
Now falling, Just falling without the bottom in sight.
As I fell I saw me now and then.
The me "then" said keep your eyes.
The me "now" did not agree.
But now I want to fall no more.
No more No more No more.
Please GOD stop me.
I stepped off the edge without looking.
I stepped off the edge without the bottom in mind.
I stepped off the edge because of my ignorance and foolishness.

Stuck in the Past

Walking out the door of my dorm, into the indecisive Georgia weather. My days in the boarding house came flooding back. Oh the times. The dry clay dust, the unpaved roads, the overgrown forest that surrounded the school, i remembered everything. In too many ways boarding house had shaped me. The school was located on the side of a hill, and everyday i would see the sun set. Leaning on the window sill, i remember watching the sunset through the shutters of a random classroom. The softness of its yellow rays seemed to melt every worry away and my mind would go .......Blank.
Ahh, what the brief moment of serenity could do to the soul. Then reality comes right back with the bell boy jingled the bell for prep time. Prep time occupied about 60% of our time per week in my boarding house and sometimes even more if the headmaster was in a bad mood. If you ever came to the school you would think our motto was "study till you drop dead". Although it may seem that all we did was study, prep time if our housemistress was suspiciously absent, was how we boarding house students grew very close to each other. Wait, the headmaster just stepped in with a whip....................silence.

The smiling sun

I smile because i am happy.
I am happy that i am alive today.
i am happy because i have a family.
I am happy that i am in school.
I am happy that i am healthy.
I am happy that i have determination and will power.
but over all i am happy that GOD is always with me.

Final Exam

As a child I was very good in mathematics, that I was able to recite the whole multiplication table in just one week. Then along came English, this was the area that I had the most difficulty. I had difficulty in spelling, writing and reading. As usual my parent where worried because they knew if I was not able to read and spell I was definitely not going to write well. So they tried different techniques to improve my reading and writing skills.

The first thing I remembered them trying to do was to get me to read more books. My parents were already convinced that I would not read anything complex and more than about 50 pages. So they decided to take another approach about the situation. I was the type of person who loved to watch Nancy drew, Scooby doo or any mystery cartoon I could find on television. Eureka! They had found the loop hole they needed and flooded the house with mystery novels. This actually worked and from there I was able to widen my scope of reading.

Although my parents had found a way to make me read more, I still did not know how to write and spell sufficiently. These two areas proved to be even more difficult for my parents to teach me. They threw in the towel and decided to hire a tutor. She was my very first tutor and the best. She came up with this amazing technique, which I will never forget, to teach me how to spell. She taught me to break up words into tiny fragments, which I would be able to actually remember. For instance, I had trouble spelling ‘together’ but she taught me to break it up like so ‘to-get-her’, since then I never forgot that word. After learning how to spell and read, I was able to write.

These were the things and people that taught me how to read and write. Although I am not the best writer, I have definitely come a long way.

Changing My Major

I would not change my major after this semester because before I chose my major I had done adequate research, talked with my counselor, parents and professionals in the field and looked at my strengths, weaknesses and certain attributes. For instance I am better in mathematics than in English and I also enjoy it. After weighing some of my attributes and recommendation to certain majors, I decided to choose electrical engineering.

After this semester, I will not change my major because my major has introduced me to new material that I have not encountered before such as computer programming. Everyday we use the computer and never realize the numerous codes the computer has to go through to achieve a desired result. My major also enabled me to apply mathematics to real life situations. For instance, The GPS system calculates your location by using distance and time from satellites orbiting the earth.

Although electrical engineering is very interesting, it also requires a lot of studying and focus. If I were to change my major I would probably change to mechanical engineering.
